TaqMan PCR. Primers and TaqMan probe anneal to the target DNA. The Taq polymerase synthesises the new strand starting from the primer. The exonuclease activity of the Taq polymersase degrades the TaqMan probe to nucleotides, uncoupling the fluorophore (F) from the quencher (Q). The fluorescence emitted from the freed fluorophore is detected after each cycle
