The effects of benfotiamine on [14C]deoxyglucose uptake in cells under NG (5.5 mM glucose) conditions. Myotubes were treated for 4 days in the absence or presence of benfotiamine (200 μM) before the addition of colorless DMEM with 100 μM glucose and [14C]deoxy-D-glucose (1 μCi/ml). Data represent mean ± SEM from cells isolated from 3 individual donors. Benfotiamine significantly increased overall glucose uptake (P < 0.001, ANOVA repeated measures)
