Broccoli enhances the longevity of T. castaneum under heat-stress conditions. Kaplan–Meier survival curves demonstrate the increased longevity of beetles fed on a broccoli-supplemented diet and then exposed to heat stress (42 °C) compared to beetles fed on a control diet. Beetles were fed for 2 weeks on flour containing 0.1 % (a), 1 % (b), 5 % (c) or 10 % (d) of lyophilized broccoli. A log-rank (Mantel-Cox) test was used to determine the significance of differences between the survival curves. *p < 0.05; ***p < 0.001. All experiments have been repeated more than once with similar effects
