Betaine reduces Hcy level and paralysis rate in the absence and presence of exogenous Hcy. Hcy level was determined either in control nematodes or those treated with 1 mM Hcy. Moreover, in an additional experiment, both groups were exposed to 100 μM betaine also (a).
