In each lane, 7.5 μg of total protein extracted from colonic scrapings from three control rats (left lane) or heme-fed rats (middle lane) was loaded. At the right, marker proteins are loaded. β-actin antibodies shows equal amounts of β-actin in both extracts. Mptx levels are strongly reduced in heme-fed rats
