Western blotting of the mitochondrial respiratory complexes I–V in the cortex of control and curcumin-supplemented APOE3 mice. Relative intensities of bands were quantified by densitometry and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) served as a loading control. There is a trend towards increased protein concentrations of mitochondrial respiratory complexes in curcumin-supplemented APOE3 mice, especially for complex IV.
