  1. The gene expression levels from molecular pathways were analyzed by RT-qPCR method. The relative changes of mRNA expression levels in the protein export (group1) and ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis (group2) pathways were indicated in the table. The mRNA expression of common genes from molecular pathways that were downregulated by high glucose treatment was shown as group 3 in the table. Statistical significance was determined by Student’s t test. Values are expressed as the mean ± SD; n = 3 independent experiments with three technical replicates
